She might not want to call it a catwalk though. Boobie is a dog, a greyhound-chihuahua cross, living with her owners in New York.
The market for pet apparel was valued at $5.7 billion in 2021 and the majority of buyers are dog owners. The rise of dog clothing has been boosted by a trend online to dress pets as stylishly as their owners.
Now for the first time petwear has been featured at one of the world’s largest menswear fashion shows, Pitti Uomo in Florence. The show dedicated a pavilion to animal apparel at the 16th-century Fortezza da Basso and designers brought along their canine models
