Golden Globes 2023: Red Carpet Fashion

The 2023 Golden Globes red carpet took place at the Beverly Hilton in LA, with Hollywood’s biggest stars in TV and film arriving in style. With a guest list that included Selena Gomez in a dramatic velvet Valentino Haute Couture gown, “Wednesday“‘s Jenna Ortega in Gucci, Rihanna in Schiaparelli, Margot Robbie in Chanel, and Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior, the fashion was incredibly thoughtful.

In the days leading up to the event, a video was posted to reveal confirmed seating for celebrities from some of 2022’s most prominent casts, including “Babylon,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “The Bear,” and “The White Lotus.” Of course, these included some of the best dressed stars in the business, so the anticipation was high.

While the Golden Globes aired on NBC, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has drawn mounting criticism for lack of representation in past years. Recently, however, HFPA President Helen Hoehne claimed that the organization is now 51.5 percent “racially and ethnically diverse” with the addition of 103 members.

Fans were hopeful that the red carpet, the winners’ list, and the stage would reflect this renewed commitment to diversity. American comedian Jerrod Carmichael hosted the Golden Globes ceremony, with producer and activist Laverne Cox fronting E!’s fashion coverage beforehand.
